Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Daniel 6:25-28. Come to Your God. He is waiting for you to draw closer and come to him. King of Babylon encourages you to place our faith and hope in the only true God.

Then King Darius wrote to all the nations and peoples of every language in all the earth:

“May you prosper greatly!

26 “I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel.

“For he is the living God
    and he endures forever;
his kingdom will not be destroyed,
    his dominion will never end.
27 He rescues and he saves;
    he performs signs and wonders
    in the heavens and on the earth.
He has rescued Daniel
    from the power of the lions.”

28 So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus[b] the Persian.

My heart finds rest in God

Being real and honest is a characteristic not often found. Looking around at this time in the world it is more evident than ever before, that we live in a superficial world. With social media and mainstream media, it is very easy to wonder what lies behind the facade.

We battle not only against flesh and blood but the spiritual principalities. When we are feeling oppressed, you easily feel burdened and overwhelmed. Not knowing to whom we can trust and place our hope in, we can grow wearier and wearier.

Run to God the Father. Run to Him as often as you need to. He is your creator and father. He loves you like no other and He is the perfect one to run to.

King Darius was confronted by the goodness and faithfulness of God. He saw God save and rescue in a very real way. The most powerful man on earth during his life, king Darius acknowledged that God’s kingdom would never be destroyed and would endure forever.

So much of what we are exposed to in life is temporary and fake, know that God your father rules. His rule is everlasting and He will save you today and into the future. Just run to your father!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your love and faithfulness, God. You are still the same father that saved Daniel from the lion’s den. I look to You today, looking past all the temporary things of this world. I place my hope and faith in You!

In Jesus Name,
