Daily Devotional – A God Worthy of Hope

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Romans 15: 7-13. My hope is in Jesus! I have not placed it in the leaders of this world or myself. I have peace because I’m 100% relying on Him!

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews[b] on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written:

“Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles;
    I will sing the praises of your name.”[c]

10 Again, it says,

“Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.”[d]

11 And again,

“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles;
    let all the peoples extol him.”[e]

12 And again, Isaiah says,

“The Root of Jesse will spring up,
    one who will arise to rule over the nations;
    in him the Gentiles will hope.”[f]

13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

I was not strong enough for even myself

I echo the prayer of Paul. “that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” As you consider what Jesus has accomplished by pouring out His blood for you on the cross, know that you can 100% trust Him. That our God that did not stop at anything to restore our relationship with Him, will not hold back anything from you!

Jesus’ death on the cross covered the sins for not only the Jewish people but for anyone who would place their faith in Him. Placing faith in God requires us to place our hope in Him too. With God, it is sort of a 100% thing. We can not truly say that you have faith in Jesus as our savior if we doing half the work ourselves.

One thing I have found throughout my life is that I on my own am not strong enough or able to even save myself from the smallest things. Thankfully I can leave it all up to God the creator of all!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Jesus, for your sacrifice that covers all of us, and all of our sins. Help me by your Holy Spirit to have great faith and hope in You, and less strength in my weakness.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
