Daily Devotional – God Knows The Story

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 139:1-12. You might not feel seen and understood, but God and His love sees and cares. No matter where you find yourself today, God sees it all and knows the full story. We do not need to explain anything, but just experience His grace and compassion!

“You have searched me, Lord,
    and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
    you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
    you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
    you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
    and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
    and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
    the night will shine like the day,
    for darkness is as light to you.”

God alone knows and sees you where you are!

Jesus was the one that floated the idea that sin starts in our hearts and minds. Before we act or speak, we have already thought and desired it. From out of a man’s heart flows all our actions and words.

God knows our innermost thoughts and all that makes us who we are. He knows our comings and goings, sitting and rising, and even the words that I am about to write for you. There is nowhere that I can go to hide the presence and sight of God.

While it can be a little scary having our “Big Father” watching and analyzing every thought, word, and action, it can also be comforting. God that has seen the absolute worse of me still chooses to love and care for me. God is so committed to each of us that He has not vacated earth even though we may have given Him reason to do so.

Accept God’s forgiveness and grace. He has seen it all and still loves you offering forgiveness. As you accept God’s grace, give up access to your heart too, so that He by His Holy Spirit may truly bring forth new life in you!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Jesus, that You who sees everything looks upon me with love and compassion. Thank you for your forgiveness and loving-kindness. I surrender before You and ask that You lead me by Your Holy Spirit.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
