Daily Devotional – God is Faithful to Repentance

daily devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 1 John 1:5-10. One of the factors that build confidence is reliability. When those that we place our faith in, deliver, we can grow in confidence and trust.

“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[b] sin.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.”

God has been trustworthy from generation to generation

There is nothing worse than putting it all on the line and being vulnerable with another. This is evident in the fact that we may do this with only 1 or 2 people in our entire lives. Considering that we each most likely interact with well over 100,000 people in our lifetime, this is a tiny percentage.

We have a Father in heaven that wants to be involved in and trusted with our lives. He is most definitely trustworthy with our complete vulnerability. As the Almighty God, He not only knows every intimate part of our life, but He continues to chase after us.

Before we even comprehended our sin and understood our need for a savior, Jesus went to the cross for us. Let us trust in this one truth, Jesus is able and trustworthy. No matter how others may disappoint, Jesus will always satisfy and earn our faith!

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Father that Your love never runs dry based on my sin and actions. Jesus, Your son is worthy of all my hope and faith. I come before You vulnerable and trusting in Your strength and faithfulness.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
