Daily Devotional – God’s Eye is on You

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 34:15-22. We live in a fallen and broken world. Whether you deliberately or inadvertently cause harm to others, we can not get away from reality. We will experience and cause trouble!

“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
    and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16 but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
    to blot out their name from the earth.

17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
    he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
    and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

19 The righteous person may have many troubles,
    but the Lord delivers him from them all;
20 he protects all his bones,
    not one of them will be broken.

21 Evil will slay the wicked;
    the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
22 The Lord will rescue his servants;
    no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.”

God sees you where you are!

On many occasions and situations, I have found myself in a position trying to console and encourage someone with incredible pain. I often feel so useless as I come before them with no words. I wish that I had the vocabulary that could articulate the love and compassion that I have for them.

Sometimes in these situations, we speak and say things from a sense of inadequacy. So often we say something that we don’t mean or intend to say. We need to remember that only 7% of communication is verbal. Action and visual cues make up the largest amount of communication.

If you are experiencing considerable pain and uncertainty today, be encouraged and strengthen yourself in the knowledge that your Father in Heaven is watching you! God is taking action, communicating His love and compassion towards you today!

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

That You love and care for me. There is no love like Yours toward me. I know that You are watching over me and seeing my heart, thoughts, and desires. Take joy in how my soul thirsts for You and seeks Your glory.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
