Daily Devotional – Fear Not, Trust God

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 56:3-7. We all face difficulties and struggles. God did not promise us a life without any burdens but has called us to swop them for the burdens of God.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
    In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
    What can mere mortals do to me?

All day long they twist my words;
    all their schemes are for my ruin.
They conspire, they lurk,
    they watch my steps,
    hoping to take my life.
Because of their wickedness do not[c] let them escape;
    in your anger, God, bring the nations down.”

My confidence comes from my strength.

Society encourages us to be strong and independent. Men are taught not to cry and women are encouraged to be stronger than men. Western culture pushes single-family homes and independence from each other.

I may be able to stand on my own in good times, but what happens when I have the world bearing down on me? God offers me external support, holding me up, and offering me confidence.

God has not only given me His external strength but His Holy Spirit within me. When the world and the people around me only see darkness, I can confidently shout with joy. God is my strength and God is my joy!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Father, for continuing to support and strengthen me. As I face the world and all the challenges, I rely on You and Your strength.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
