Daily Devotional – Fear Not, God is With You

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Isaiah 41:8-13. One of my favorite verses in the Bible speaks of me finding refuge under the breast feathers and between the talons of God. As a mother eagle protects its young, so God desires to protect us and be our refuge.

“But you, Israel, my servant,
    Jacob, whom I have chosen,
    you descendants of Abraham my friend,
I took you from the ends of the earth,
    from its farthest corners I called you.
I said, ‘You are my servant’;
    I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

11 “All who rage against you
    will surely be ashamed and disgraced;
those who oppose you
    will be as nothing and perish.
12 Though you search for your enemies,
    you will not find them.
Those who wage war against you
    will be as nothing at all.
13 For I am the Lord your God
    who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
    I will help you.”

God is with you right now, and He will protect you!

God constantly reminded Israel how He had rescued them and the forefathers from Egypt. He wanted Israel to remember how God had drawn them to Himself and given them the land that He had promised Abraham in the beginning.

God wants to remind us today in the same way that He constantly reminded Israel. Jesus died on the cross to save Israel and the people, but He also died to save all the people of the world. He bled on the cross and laid Himself down as a sacrifice so that God the Father could draw us unto Him.

With us nestled in the chest of our God, how can any of our fears grab hold of us? If Jesus would go through the anguish and pain of the cross, why would He let your fears get the best of you?

No, God is with us and He will keep us right where we are. There is nothing to fear because God, the Almighty, is our hedge of protection!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Jesus, that You spared nothing by going to the cross for us. Not only did You prove Your love, but You demonstrated Your power rising from the grave. Thank You that You are the hedge of protection around me, and so I rest peacefully in Your love today.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
