Daily Devotional – Our Father Knows How to Rescue Us

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 2 Peter 2:4-10. For some of us, we wait on someone else to swoop down and rescue us. Others are not willing to let their guard down and they push on through all situations defiant.

“For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell,[a] putting them in chains of darkness[b] to be held for judgment; if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)— if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. 10 This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh[c] and despise authority.”

In all situations, God is in control!

What do you truly and really believe about God? If you are facing a trial right now or when you do in the future, how will your belief in who God is, impact your experience and manner of dealing with the trial. Do you believe that God is able to rescue and protect you?

The Bible recalls various situations where God intervened miraculously to rescue and protect His children. So when we feel that we are being asked to walk out on the water during a storm, if Jesus is there with us, why are we not willing to climb out of the boat?

I personally believe that God is most able to cross over from the supernatural world into the natural realm. God is most able and willing to rescue me and you if the situation called for it. As God’s hands and feet, God has created His church to act on His behalf. Perhaps we need to assume the responsibility bestowed upon us by God. If God has not intervened, perhaps it is us that He is waiting on to step up to the plate!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Father, that You are watching over every event and happening n my life. Not only You able, but You are willing to protect and rescue me. Help me to see those that I need to reach out to on Your behalf and help today!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
