Daily Devotional – Declare the Coming of Our Savior

Daily devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Isaiah 7:10-16. Proclaim it from the mountaintop, the balcony, and the valleys, it is the season to recall and remember the sign that was given from our Lord.

“Again the Lord spoke to Ahaz, 11 “Ask the Lord your God for a sign, whether in the deepest depths or in the highest heights.”

12 But Ahaz said, “I will not ask; I will not put the Lord to the test.”

13 Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you[c] a sign: The virgin[d] will conceive and give birth to a son, and[e] will call him Immanuel.[f] 15 He will be eating curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, 16 for before the boy knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, the land of the two kings you dread will be laid waste. 17 The Lord will bring on you and on your people and on the house of your father a time unlike any since Ephraim broke away from Judah—he will bring the king of Assyria.”

The spirit of the Almighty would dwell on earth again

The period of time leading up to the birth of Jesus was one of dry, barrenness. The Holy of holies was not filled by the presence and spirit of God. There had not been a word from any prophets for about 400 years.

Isaiah prophesized the coming and birth of the Messiah but also prophesized the land of waste. The miracles would abound. For one, a virgin would bring forth a baby, and secondly, the Lord and creator of all would come to live among His creation.

Let us take this opportunity to shout with joy and proclaim the miracles of this wonderful season. Speak to the sign from God and encourage the hope that our Father provides us with all of those around us.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Father that You are the miracle worker. You have always bent reality to show us Your loving kindness. Be glorified today and over this season where we remember the birth of our Savior.

In Jesus’s Name,
