Daily Devotional – Day 12 of Christmas

Daily devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Isaiah 7:13-17. Jesus was born with the great responsibility of restoring His creation back to their creator. A savior for men would have to be born of men and walk this earth in order for the sacrifice to count.

“Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you[c] a sign: The virgin[d] will conceive and give birth to a son, and[e] will call him Immanuel.[f] 15 He will be eating curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, 16 for before the boy knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, the land of the two kings you dread will be laid waste. 17 The Lord will bring on you and on your people and on the house of your father a time unlike any since Ephraim broke away from Judah—he will bring the king of Assyria.”

Born of a virgin, a miracle for God to join us

The reason for the season! Jesus is not only the central figure to Christmas, but to our salvation and the entire universe. What a miracle the Lord of all would humble Himself to a manger from the throne of heaven.

Held by the hands of His mother that He created, Jesus brought heaven to earth. Earth celebrated kings and rulers with triumphant celebrations and parties. Jesus brought us a kingdom of equality, peace, and love.

As we celebrate today that Jesus, God, came to earth to walk among His creation, let us usher the Kingdom of God throughout the world. Following the year 2020, let us not take any breath for granted and live as Jesus did!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Jesus, that You came to earth. You gave up heaven so that you could come and die for us. Your love is so much greater than any other that I will find. May You be glorified this day and every day in the future! I love You, Jesus!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
