Daily Devotional – Covenant-Keeping God

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Exodus 23: 20-25. God is a covenant-keeping God and aren’t you glad that He is. Is it God’s will for me to walk in health? Yes, it is.

“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. 21 Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him. 22 If you listen carefully to what he says and do all that I say, I will be an enemy to your enemies and will oppose those who oppose you. 23 My angel will go ahead of you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites and Jebusites, and I will wipe them out. 24 Do not bow down before their gods or worship them or follow their practices. You must demolish them and break their sacred stones to pieces. 25 Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you

God’s stands by His words

If He promised His covenant people good health and longevity, then He also plans for you and me today, to walk in health and experience a long, fruitful life.

fall scents for your home

As you are meditating on the scripture above, please remember that there are some expectations He was requiring of His covenant partners. God expects His people to worship Him. This was not a suggestion for the Sabbath, but instead, a command and an expected lifestyle. It is walking in a constant state of sincere love and devotion the only one and true God. He wanted pure fidelity.

God had brought Israel out of a place of bondage by His miraculous powers and was leading them into the promised land. He deserved their devotion. He gave them clear instructions; to obey and things would go well for them. He would keep them in good health. He asks the same of you and I. Worship and obeys. You serve a covenant-keeping God. Ask yourself, “Am I a covenant keeper like my Father?”

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

It is my desire to keep your covenant, not out of a sense of obligation because I realize that Jesus Christ has already fulfilled my obligation, but out of a sense of love. You also brought me out of darkness and bondage and filled me with your light. Now help me to be a covenant keeper and I ask that you help me to understand that these promises are available for me today.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
