Daily Devotional – Behold the Lamb of God

By on April 28, 2021

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from John 1:29-34. Behold the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, the Son of God! Let us transfer our focus from the things of this world, and place our hope and faith upon the Lamb. Jesus has taken away our sins and transgressions.

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ 31 I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel.”

32 Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. 33 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.”

The Lamb of God is our victory!

We have transgressed against the holy God. Pure and perfect, our sinful hearts and bodies can not enter the presence of such almighty power. Entering the courts of God would only end in our death!

The blood of the Lamb was poured out and flowed for our atonement. For all eternity, Jesus bled and died on the cross for you and me. Every person to ever walk this earth has access to God’s forgiveness. That is a victory! Done and dusted, the death of Jesus on the cross won the war that day and forever.

The good news that I have for you today is that Jesus has done it all. Throughout life, we learn that we need to take on tasks in order to get them done properly. Well, this task is one that you do not need to worry about, Jesus has taken care of it. Place your hope and trust in Jesus as the one that taken our transgressions. We can now enter the courts of the only true God Almighty. Let us approach our creator and worship Him today.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Jesus, that Your sacrifice on the cross is our victory. You were victorious so that we could overcome the challenges in life that used to be impossible. Today I celebrate the good news of Your victory!

In Jesus Name,
