Daily Devotional – In The Beginning

Daily devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Genesis 1:1-5. The beginning of any story is important. It sets the foundation of what is to come. The Bible starts with the most important scripture and discusses the creation of the world.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.”

Creation introduces you to God and His character!

There are many people alive today that question and flat out do not believe the first few scriptures in the Bible. I have often questioned how you can believe anything further in the Bible if you question the very first scriptures.

God shares and reveals His character throughout the Bible. The first few scriptures are no different. God introduces us to His power and goodness.

God created the earth to keep His greatest creation, the human race. He created the perfect earth with us on His mind. He placed our earth in the perfect place within the ever-expanding universe. The earth was placed close enough to the sun and at the perfect angle to sustain life. The good God placed it in just the right space.

God then entered with His light to separate light and darkness upon the earth.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Father God, for creating the earth, universe, and all that we know. God, you are good and have created the perfect earth for us. Knowing that You created the earth gives me great peace and faith. Help me to see Your perfect creation today.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
