Daily Devotional – The Battle is the Lord’s

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Matthew 6:5-15. When I fight, I fight on my knees. I do not fight the flesh and blood that stands before me, but I surrender my will, and desires to the moving of God!

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

“This, then, is how you should pray:

fall scents for your home

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]

14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

Nothing can stand against our God!

So often as we walk through life, all that we can see is the mountain in the molehill. With our eyes fixed on the here and now, we only see our battles and shortcomings. Rather if we looked up to the heavens, we will see God and all His workings.

We look up by falling on our knees in prayer before God, surrendering before God and His authority. We are so often running off on our own mission, we miss the fact that God has called us to Himself so that He can lead us.

God is almighty and I totally believe that there nothing impossible for God. He created this earth from nothing and He is continuing to be involved in His creation. Let us be found fighting our battles with our heads and eyes lifted heavenward, and watching God win the battles for us!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Father, that nothing is impossible for You. You are all-powerful and Your enemies shake before You. I have nothing to fear as I place it all in Your hands and watch You fight Your battle.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
