Daily Devotional – After It All

daily edvotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 1 Samuel 2:1-5. Hannahs’s prayer to God to break her brokenness and bareness is a great example of prayer. Although we have been given the opportunity to walk in freedom and healing, it doesn’t stop the world and its kingdom.

“Then Hannah prayed and said:

“My heart rejoices in the Lord;
    in the Lord my horn[a] is lifted high.
My mouth boasts over my enemies,
    for I delight in your deliverance.

fall scents for your home

“There is no one holy like the Lord;
    there is no one besides you;
    there is no Rock like our God.

“Do not keep talking so proudly
    or let your mouth speak such arrogance,
for the Lord is a God who knows,
    and by him deeds are weighed.

“The bows of the warriors are broken,
    but those who stumbled are armed with strength.
Those who were full hire themselves out for food,
    but those who were hungry are hungry no more.
She who was barren has borne seven children,
    but she who has had many sons pines away.”

There is no one worthy like our God!

Does your heart rejoice in God today? Can you look past the life of disappointments and failing to see God for who He is. It is too easy to limit God into the box that fits our experiences. Let us rather boast to our enemies and circumstances in who Jesus is and what He achieved on the cross.

Are you confident in your own achievements and talents? You and I may achieve great accomplishments in comparison to others within your circle of friends, but at what cost? So many successful business people get left with nothing and no one because they personally strived to achieve success. They sacrificed their family and friends, but worst of all, they sacrificed God’s Kingdom and His purposes!

Let us follow the lead of Hannah and lower our pride and strengths at the feet of the throne of the one who has given us it. Let us sing to the Almighty and Holy one that alone is worthy.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Today I start by focusing on You and who You are. You are majestic and wonderful, and uncomparable. I will rejoice in my salvation, but also in You and Your mighty Kinkgdom!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
