Daily Devotional – A Pure Heart and Life

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 2 Corinthians 7:8-13Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. When we follow the prompting and leading of God, grafted to the tree of life, the Holy Spirit will lead us in holiness.

“Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it—I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while— yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. 10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

11 See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter. 12 So even though I wrote to you, it was neither on account of the one who did the wrong nor on account of the injured party, but rather that before God you could see for yourselves how devoted to us you are. 13 By all this we are encouraged.”

Set aside and devoted to a Holy God

As we submit ourselves before the authority of God and acknowledge Him in all that we do, we will see God move. It is in this attitude that we get to take a step back and see how God has been involved from the beginning.

Seeking God’s will and purposes, we will see them and Him.

As we become one with God, He will give us His heartbeat and mind. Our love and compassion for others will grow. We will also gain a greater understanding of the word of God.

Let our understanding and conviction by the Holy Spirit lead and guide us in all that we do. Let us set ourselves apart and be Holy for the worship of the Almighty God.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you for always being involved. You have been working all things together for my good and Your purpose. I commit myself today to be set apart for You and Your glory.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
