Is Oxidative Stress Sabotaging Your Wellbeing?

By Dr. Pierre Mantello, Ph.D., M.D. –

The daily grind can be daunting. Between all of our commitments and obligations, it can be hard to move through our tasks with a sense of ease and optimal vitality. Let’s take a step back and examine the factors that make us feel our best. The thought begs the question…what is the best thing we can do for our health? Often, we find ourselves chasing the latest diet craze or exercise fad, whether we want to feel better, look better, or be the best possible version of ourselves. After many years in the field of science and medicine, I’ve learned that the best thing we can do for our health, is not to try to outsmart time, sleep or our basic human needs. The best thing to do for our health is to prioritize it. This is challenging for many though, because it can be tough to notice that our state of wellbeing is not ideal until we actually start to feel bad.

Everybody wants to feel good, but we tend more often to chase wellness when it’s being threatened than take steps proactively to preserve it. More powerful than rebounding from bouts of less than optimal wellness, is preventing ourselves from experiencing these dips in the first place. This can only be achieved through self-awareness. We can always afford to feel better, but the challenge is to keep ourselves on a positive trajectory before anything negative starts. We are all familiar with chronic conditions like diabetes and asthma, but more widespread than disease is the plague of complacency, which is dangerous for our health and all too easy to slip into.

Wellness is a complex, meandering journey, but a rewarding one. Sometimes our actions reverberate in a way we can feel right away; and other times it can take years for the effects of our behaviors to appear. The latter can be dangerous, because by the time any damage rears its head, you’ve developed an unhealthy habit that’s not easy to kick. We are all at risk for becoming complacent in how we feel, and habits are a major reason that this can happen.

The tricky thing about habits is that they actually have a chemical consequence within our bodies. This shows up in the form of oxidative stress, which is what happens when we are unable to effectively fight off free radicals that attack our cells. Created naturally by our bodies’ daily processes, and aggravated by things like smoking, drinking and even pollution, we fight free radicals with antioxidants, a term we’ve all heard and generally understand the positivity of, but it could help to really understand what antioxidants are for.

Antioxidants are compounds that fight this oxidative stress, which is linked to a decrease in wellbeing and an increase in disease generation. The effects of oxidative stress can also occur naturally, by certain ways our bodies operate and not just the choices we make. Free radical attacks are also a result of oxidative stress. We are designed to keep all these compounds balanced, but where we really need a strong dose of antioxidants is when our antioxidative systems are unable to eliminate all these free radicals on their own.

This scenario is common, and it’s part of the reason I recommend Immun’Age, a natural dietary supplement that helps the body through these free radical attacks, fuels our energy reserves, bolsters our immune system and supports the processes of anti-aging.

While there are many food and dietary supplements on the market few have gone through the clinical trials that we have conducted for Immun’Age. Additionally, figuring out which ones are right for you, especially if you aren’t too familiar with the landscape, can be overwhelming. A good place to start is to look for ones with ingredients that you can recognize. Part of the reason Immun’Age is so popular is because it’s simply made of fermented papaya. Nothing else. Harvested in Hawaii, the fruit undergoes a unique 10-month fermentation process in Japan, then powdered and distributed throughout the world. Associated with its sweet and tropical flavor in the US, papaya has been known for centuries as a health benefactor throughout Asia, where general health tends to be stronger than here on domestic US soil. Its development is backed by abundant clinical research, Nobel Prize-winning medical experts, world-renowned endurance athletes and devoted celebrity fans, including Sharon Stone, supermodel Irina Shayk and the last three Popes.

The bottom line is that leading a balanced life in the current day society is easier said than done, and finding a proper health regiment can be overwhelming, but if we know where to look, we can find tools that help us achieve the best version of ourselves. Immun’Age is a great place to start.
