Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Isaiah 28:16-19. A miracle is an extraordinary occurrence that surpasses human understanding or laws. The supernatural intervention of Jesus is the miracle that you need this Christmas.
“So this is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone,
a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation;
the one who relies on it
will never be stricken with panic.
17 I will make justice the measuring line
and righteousness the plumb line;
hail will sweep away your refuge, the lie,
and water will overflow your hiding place.
18 Your covenant with death will be annulled;
your agreement with the realm of the dead will not stand.
When the overwhelming scourge sweeps by,
you will be beaten down by it.
19 As often as it comes it will carry you away;
morning after morning, by day and by night,
it will sweep through.”
The understanding of this message
will bring sheer terror.”
The miracle of life and salvation lay in the manger.
It is so easy for us to be left with a sense of emptiness at the end of the day. Life and the world seem to drain us of all life and joy. Kicked to the curb we may struggle with knowing the value that we have.
To our Father in heaven, we are priceless. We have been created in His image and He desires to draw us nearer to Himself. In order to restore His children to Himself required a miracle. Without the birth of Jesus, our being restored was impossible!
Let us remember that the birth of Jesus was a miracle. If it is the only time that you see the supernatural world intervene in the natural world it is more than enough. This miracle supersedes the laws of the physical world and gives us the greatest gift that we could ever receive.
