It is terrible seeing your social media influencer fail. You partnered with this person because you thought your collaboration could go a long way. You also hoped that you could ride on the popularity of that person to also boost your products. Unfortunately, you trusted someone who failed.  Your social media influencer is not perfect. They rely on their image, skills, and talents to attract a lot of followers. They can influence these people to buy the items they endorse because of their sheer power. The problem is that when they lose their credibility, they bring everything else down with them.

If you chose an influencer who failed, these are some of the things you need to do. 

Move on 

There is nothing you can do after what happened. You chose someone whom you trusted to stay on the right path, but they made terrible choices. Since influencers do not like being controlled, especially with what they publish, you cannot do anything if they made a horrible decision that damaged their image. Let go of the experience and learn to find better partners next time.

Sue the influencer

If your partnership recently started and you still have a long way to go, you have the right to sue if you signed a contract. The influencer might already be at a low point, but you need to do it to save the face of your business. It is another way of saying that you disliked the attitude displayed and you condemn those actions too. 

Be careful when choosing a new partner

If you wish to still rely on influencers, given their popularity, it is okay. Make sure though that you select the best partner next time; otherwise, it might lead to the same disastrous results that brought you to where you are now.

Focus on other marketing strategies

Do not worry that things did not turn out the way you wanted this time. You can focus your efforts on a different strategy next time so that people will forget that you even collaborated with a disgraced social media influencer. They will remember you for the new marketing campaign you launched. For instance, you can join local trade conferences where you have the chance to speak directly with your target audience. During the trade show, you need to bring top-quality rollup banners to help entice more people to come and see what you have to offer. 

Come up with a YouTube channel

You do not need to rely on influencers next time when you can set up a page and release videos containing information about your business. You can use authentic people or even your employees as stars of these videos. As long as you provide quality content that people love to check out, it is good enough.

Do not allow a single marketing strategy that failed to stop you from doing better next time. It is common for campaigns to fail, and there is nothing wrong with it if you learn from the mistake and move forward.
