Living with Cancer

No one could have expected decades ago that there would still be so many people living with cancer. With scientific advances, research and funding, many would have assumed we would have a world cured from these terrible diseases.

In 2018, the statistics for the most prevalent cancers in both male and female were staggering. According to the World Cancer Research Fund, lung and breast cancers were the most common cancers worldwide, each contributing 12.3% of the total number of new cases diagnosed in 2018. Lung cancer is the most common cancer in men, while breast cancer the most common in women.

In 2018 there were more than 2 million new breast cancer cases. The leading countries with the highest rates were Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, France, and New Caledonia (France).

Although France has seen one of the highest breast cancer rates, it was recently reported that their survival rates have increased from 72 % to 94 %. For a woman diagnosed with breast cancer,  a cancer center in France may be one of the best options to seek treatment in.  France is known for their advanced research, top oncologists and affordable high level care.

A cancer diagnosis leaves the patient with fear, anxiety and depression. While no one can prepare a person for these overwhelming feelings, and certainly no one can remove these feelings, cancer care in France can certainly help.  By having confidence in your doctor and their recommendations for treatment, a patient can experience hope.

An expert in the field will help you plan and prepare yourself for the road ahead. Depending on the type of diagnosis, your specialist will provide you with necessary or various options of treatments. Your doctor should also be able to connect you with resources, such as a community of support

While there is still no definite cure for all cancers, there is progress in researching cures. Every day, each year and passing decade, scientists get a little closer and hopefully one day, living with cancer will be no more.
