When Life is Difficult and Makes No Sense, Where is Your Hiding Place?

Our community was shocked to hear about the death of woman who was a devoted wife, mom and teacher. My family has known her for 13 years. Our kids went to the same babysitter. We attended our children’s birthday parties together, our boys played basketball in the same league.

She and I shared many commonalities; we’re both public school teachers and so are our husbands, we both have 3 kids, she’s from Kansas, I’m from Oklahoma, she’s been married for 25 years, I’ve been married 23. Even though I didn’t know her well, her death is incredibly saddening.

I’m so very thankful that I have a refuge in Jesus that calms the very core of my head and heart. He is the deliverer of peace that surpasses all understanding and His understanding no one can fathom.

Are you hurting today? Do you have questions that have no answers or a heart that won’t heal? God is our refuge and our strength, a very present help in times of trouble. He knows every detail of every situation and He knows exactly how you feel. I encourage you to turn your eyes upon Jesus this day, talk to Him and look to Him for every need. In a world that changes regularly, His love and faithfulness is constant!
