Daily Devotional – In the Hands of God and His Time

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Ecclesiastes 3:1-11. Take heart and be encouraged, God holds all your dreams in His strong hands. In His time, He will make all things beautiful and right. So put your faith in His ability and timing.

“There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

What do workers gain from their toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet[a] no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

Perspective creates anticipation and disappointment!

Have you ever looked heavenward and asked your Father with disappointment, why? Having believed all this time that God has provided the direction and calling, you have stayed the course and stood firm in the faith.

Then, when that one thing happens, we look to the Lord questioning His authority and ability. We draw the line in the sand saying that He has not delivered on His promise on our timeline. Deciding that He has let us down and failed us, we tend to throw a tantrum.

We do not understand and comprehend all that God is doing. Let us wait on God for His purpose and time as He will make all things beautiful in His time.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Father that You are always working in all things. You are teaching me Your way through all that You say and allow. Help me to stand firm even when I can not seem to wait for Your time.

In Jesus’s Name,
Amen
