Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Proverbs 3: 5-10. “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15. I will be a history maker for my generations to come!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.[a]
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.
9 Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.“
History maker, course altering
We have decisions before us each day. Some decisions seem arbitrary, while others keep us up at night as we contemplate our fate. With every decision, we move in the direction that we claim to want. Or we move in the direction of self-destruction.
I could be a history maker to all the people of this land. I could stand before them all and speak to the truth of God and Jesus, stand before thousands, and think that I am living for God. Rather, I choose to focus on my children and grandchildren. As I disciple, a small group of people around me, God will draw them to Himself, and they will follow God and seek His face!
Jesus said to us before He ascended to heaven that we would the miracles that He did and more John 14:12-14. We sometimes place criteria on what is worthy of being called a history maker for God’s kingdom. Rather I will run into the arms of my savior, and remind those around me to do the same. That will change the course of my future, and all those who follow me to the arms of God!
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, God, for Your love for us. You have called us to You and I respond, running into Your arms. Give me Your fruit today and every day into the future to speak Your truth through love!
In Jesus Name,
Amen
