Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 71: 1-8. The Lord of heaven and earth is full of wonder. He is worthy of all praise, worship, and honor! All creation joins us to proclaim how great You are.
“In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
2 In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me;
turn your ear to me and save me.
3 Be my rock of refuge,
to which I can always go;
give the command to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.
4 Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,
from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel.

5 For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord,
my confidence since my youth.
6 From birth I have relied on you;
you brought me forth from my mother’s womb.

you are my strong refuge.
8 My mouth is filled with your praise,
declaring your splendor all day long.“
God is holy, ruling beyond our planet
I have stumbled throughout my life. I often find myself trying to control and make sure that I get what I want. Everything that I do serves to benefit me and all my desires. I try to sit upon my own throne and rule over a kingdom as far as I can see. All of my efforts always end up creating heartache.
The scripture recites how David relied upon God. It speaks of how David experienced the saving grace and refuge of God. Rather than struggling through each situation in life, David submitted it to God’s plan and will.
Within my heart, I desire to live a life that glorifies God. I desire to be the sign that shines brightly for God. As I run into the arms and refuge of God, I want to see Him working miracles for His glory!

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, God, that You are always there. As the powerful and mighty creator and Lord of all. I turn to you today to repent and submit my desires and plans before You. Hold me close and take care of all the details in my life, today and beyond.
