Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Proverbs 3: 5-6. When we consider the life of King David, we discover that God led him in ways David probably never even realized. When he was just a young boy, the Lord sent Prophet Samuel to anoint David to be king over Israel.
“Trust in the Lord completely and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart, rely on Him to guide you, and He will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with Him in whatever you do, and He will lead you wherever you go.”
David was a shepherd boy. He did what shepherd boys did: kept the sheep safe from predators. This was proven in the fact that David saved a sheep from a lion and a bear by killing those two predators.

In considering the path God had laid out before soon-to-be King David, God directed his path by allowing him to be the shepherd of sheep before he would become the shepherd of God’s people. David was afforded the opportunity of having the first-hand experience of leading sheep (animals) before he would be placed in the position of leading sheep (God’s people.)
Throughout his leadership of the people of Israel, David made many mistakes. However, he continued to follow the path the Lord had placed him on so that he could be everything God had called him to be.
In what direction is God leading you today? Do you trust God completely; or, do you rely on your own opinions? Trust God completely today and He will lead you wherever you go.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the path You have laid out before me. Please help me to rely on You totally and completely as You lead me forth to do the things You have called me to do in this season. Please help me to become intimate with You in everything I do. Thank You for guiding my life.
