Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Matthew 5:3-10. Life is about the perspective that we choose to view the world from. In pursuit of righteousness, we walk away from much selfishness in pursuit of a life that will fill our every desire!
“He said:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Seek a life lived in righteousness
God’s blessings are set before us today. We have the choice to make. You can choose life or death, you can freely choose to receive the blessings of God or the curses.
Our society today is trying to avoid the consequences of their choices. They do not want to be reminded that they chose and made the decisions, and it was not someone else that is heaping on the harvest from the curse. In order to live a life of abundance and peace, we need to sow righteousness.
Let us deliberately choose today to chase after righteousness. It is the only thing that we can pursue that will fill our hearts, minds, and bodies.
Let’s Pray
Dear Father,
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
