Cup of Empowerment 2/13/12

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, and oh my do we have the best Valentine ever? …God! Can you get any better than that?

I remember one year soon after I was widowed, I was pulling up to the church in my car while it was raining, and I noticed many ladies were being dropped off under the portico by their husbands. I started to feel bad and I said to the Lord, “I wish I had a Husband to do that for me”, to which the Lord replied, “You do.” I felt instructed to park the car. And would you know it that when I parked the car, the rain stopped? That’s so like our Lord. I got out and walked over to the church, and when I got under the awning, the rain started again! I wanted to turn to some of the husbands nearby and say, “Let’s see you do that!” I just knew my Husband had taken care of me! And He does such a WONDERFUL job! Doesn’t He?

I love having God as my Husband! (Isa 54:5) I have learned over the past twelve years how very faithful He is when I agree with Him and choose to not agree with the lies of the enemy of lack or fear. Satan has no power over us unless we give it to him. If he sends us thoughts like ‘we won’t make it,’ ‘no one cares,’ ‘I’m all alone’, and we agree with them with our words, thoughts or actions; then we have chosen to agree with him and we have given him permission to bring that fear or calamity upon us. By agreeing with him, we have empowered his lie to bring forth its fruit and have a negative impact on our lives. When we recognize the lie, (whatever does not line up with God’s promises), immediately we need to release praise to God for the opposite! I simply begin to agree with God instead! I praise Him that all my needs are met according to His riches in glory which are mine because I am in Christ Jesus! (Phil 4:19) I praise Him that He has given me His peace, that He would not leave me comfortless and that I am never alone! (John 14) I praise Him that He has given His angels special charge over me to keep me in all my ways! (Ps 91:11)

I also make sure I am in-line with His Word with my actions. I cannot expect God to release His riches to me if I am not obeying the Word in tithes and offerings. I am not exempt from this opportunity of blessing just because I am a widow. In fact I am expected to care for the fatherless and the widow also because I am in the body of Christ. (James 1:27) I cannot expect God’s peace to rule my heart and mind if I am filling my mind with television programs or books that are full of violence that causes fear! I have to line-up with my Husband, and live in a way that pleases Him, for He is truly my Valentine!

Oh girls, let this Valentine’s Day season be one of fresh commitment into a new level of His love for you and through you to others! I challenge you to pray Ephesians 3:13-21 daily in worship to the Lord moving into His love in a greater and deeper way! Notice that in this passage God’s love takes care of fear and being ‘faint of heart’. For Perfect Love casts out fear! (1 Jn 4:18)

In this DVD, and in all my materials, I impart to you what He has imparted to me, so we can move into greater levels of intimacy with Him! For He truly is our Valentine!
